Cupping is a well known bodywork and healing therapy. Egyptian hieroglyphics document the use of fire cupping as therapy approximately 3,500 years ago. This practice was passed down primarily by women healers in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Today the Chinese cupping procedure is performed with glass or plastic cups. It creates negative pressure over the skin drawing out pathogens, releasing muscle tension and pain as well as increasing the flow of blood and Qi (energy). It is also beneficial for respiratory and musculoskeletal disorders. Usually the procedure is combined with acupuncture treatments but can be used as it’s own therapy.
